• 생태적특징

    조간대에서부터 조하대까지 서식하는 것으로 알려져 있고 한국에서는 수심 38m의 수하식 해삼양식장에서 채집되었다

• 형태적특징

    전체적으로 털이 없고 매끈하다. 이마뿔은 짧고 가시상이며 윗면에는 4개의 이가 있고 아랫면에는 이가 없다. 갑각은 매끈하고 이마뿔 길이보다 3배 정도 더 길다. 제 2촉각의 가시는 뾰족하고 크다. 복부는 매끈하고 제 4, 5복부마디 뒷가장자리의 모서리는 뾰족하다. 꼬리마디는 꼬리다리보다 짧고 등면에 3쌍의 가시가 있으며 뒷가장자리의 끝은 뾰족하고 크기가 서로 다른 3쌍의 가시가 있다. 제 1가슴다리는 크고 집게 손바닥의 절반이 제 2촉각 비늘에 도달할 만큼 길며 집게는 작다. 제 2가슴다리는 가늘고 발목마디의 절반이 제 2촉각 비늘에 도달할 만큼 길며 발목마디는 7마디로 나뉘어지고 집게는 작다. 제 3가슴다리는 발가락마디 또는 앞마디의 먼쪽 절반이 제 2촉각 비늘에 도달할 만큼 길며 긴마디의 거의 끝에는 2개의 가시가 있고 앞마디의 뒷가장자리 거의 끝에는 10개의 작은 가시들이 있다. 발가락마디는 이분지형이고 뒷가자자리에 4개의 잔가시가 있다
