However, these fisheries are low efficient and urgently demand technical innovations to improve catch rates. In this study, we conducted field experiments in three traditional fishing grounds (Rizhao, Yantai, and Weihai) to test whether the addition of different colored light-emitting diodes (LEDs) fishing lights in the trammel nets could improve the catch rates of seven commercial species. Results showed that the effects of LEDs on catch rates were species-specific. Green LEDs could significantly increase the catch per unit effort (CPUE) of black rockfish (Sebastes schlegelii), fat greenling (Hexagrammos otakii), marbled flounder (Pseudopleuronectes yokohamae), stone flounder (Platichthys bicoloratus), Asian paddle crab (Charybdis japonica), and mantis shrimp (Oratosquilla oratoria) by 40%-72% compared with unilluminated nets, while had no significant effect on the catch rates of swimming crab (Portunus trituberculatus). Red LEDs harvested 58%-86% higher CPUE of fat greenling, marbled flounder, stone flounder, mantis shrimp, and swimming crab while catching fewer black rockfish and Asian paddle crab. Blue and white LEDs exhibited similar performance, which could significantly capture more black rockfish, fat greenling, and mantis shrimp and did not affect the catch rates of other species. The effects of LEDs were also size-dependent for certain species, and the catch rates generally increased with the length classes. Taking economic benefits into consideration, the green and red LEDs provided the highest profitability for Rizhao, while green LEDs performed best in Weihai and Yantai. This study is the first investigation on how artificial lights affected the catch rates of trammel nets. The findings of our study illustrated that trammel nets equipped with LEDs could serve as a viable fishing strategy in small-scale trammel net fisheries.
Yu, Mengjie,Liu, Changdong,Zhang, Liyou,Tang, Yanli Frontiers Media SA 상세보기 한국산 가자미과(가자미목, 어상강) 자어 10종의 분자동정 및 형태기재 We found ten species of larvae belonging to the family Pleuronectidae as a result of analysis on ichthyoplankton collected monthly from the East Sea, Yellow Sea, Korea Strait and East China Sea between February 2016 and May 2018 using bongo net. The ten species of pleuronectid larvae were divided into three groups in morphology. Group A had three or four bars on the lateral side of the tail: Glyptocephalus stelleri, G. kitaharae, Pseudopleuronectes yokohamae, and Hippoglossoides dubius. Group B had a row of melanophores along the dorsal and ventral side of tail: Cleisthenes pinetorum, Eopsetta grigorjewi, Dexistes rikuzenius, and Platichthys bicoloratus. Group C had dense melanophores which are covering trunk and tail entirely except caudal peduncle: Platichthys cornutus and Platichthys japonicus. The three groups did not associate with previous molecular phylogenetic studies except for the G. stelleri and G. kitaharae of the group A. 이수정,김진구,유정화,유효재,지환성,임양재 한국수산해양기술학회 상세보기 한국 남해안 문치가자미, Pleuronectes yokohamae (Gunther)의 연령과 성장 The age and growth of the Marbled sole, Pleuronectes yokohamae were investigated using left sagittal otoliths of 832 individuals collected in the mid-southern waters of Korea from January 2006 to April 2007. The seasonal changes in the ratio of an translucent zone to interval between annular rings revealed that the boundaries between translucent and opaque parts of the otolith were annual growth rings formed between May and June once a year. The spawning period was November to March and therefore the duration from fertilization to the complete formation of the annual growth ring became fifteen months. The parameters of von Bertalanffy growth equations estimated using the average standard length at each age are the $L_{infty}$ of 48.04cm, K of 0.1406/year and$t_0$ of -0.5116 for female and 26.14cm, 0.3056/year and -0.8202 for male, respectively. Finally, it is suggested that the growth of female is faster than that of male from age-2.김희용,허선정,김성태,서영일 한국수산해양기술학회 상세보기 한국 서해 문치가자미(Marbled Sole, Pseudopleuronectes yokohamae)의 성숙과 성장 We determined the maturity and growth of the Marbled sole, Pseudopleuronectes yokohamae based on monthly sampling in the West Sea of Korea from February 2009 to December 2010. Determination of sex of P. yokohamae was by gonadal inspection, and age and growth were determined by analyzing the otolith. The biological minimum size of P. yokohamae female was 24.5 cm. The seasonal changes in the ratio of a translucent zone to an opaque zone revealed that the end of the translucent zone of the otolith were annuli formed in May once a year. We compared 8 type growth equations with several length-at-age data. By using the length-at-monthly age data of these, the calculated von Bertalanffy growth equations were $L_t=41.7(1-e^{-0.47(t+0.24)})$ for females and$L_t=32.7(1-e^{-0.75(t+0.01)})$ for males. We estimated that 24.5 cm was the total length of 2 year old P. yokohamae spawns in the cold water season from January to April, and grows to 8 years old for females and 6 years old for males in the West Sea of Korea.
