종설명(Description)

• 형태적특징

    가시예쁜이해면의 외형은 불규칙한 가지 모양으로, 크기는 12 × 5 × 2 ㎝이다[6]. 표면은 매끈하고 부드럽다. 대공(oscules)은 직경의 크기가 약 1 ㎝로, 해면의 가지 끝부분과 해면 표면에 열려 있다. 질감은 탄력성이 있고 질기다. 색깔은 살아있을 때 연보라색, 액침 후 아이보리색이다. 골격 구조(skeletal structure) 중 피층의 골격 구조(ectosomal skeleton)는 사각형 또는 원형의 그물망 구조를 가지며 내충과 평행한 구조(tangential regiculation)를 이룬다. 내층의 골격 구조(choanosomal skeleton)는 매우 잘 발달된 그물망 구조를 가진다. 골편(spicules)은 주대골편(megascleres)만 가진다. 주대골편(megascleres)으로는 간상체( oxeas)를 가진다.
